Charlie has been a partner in the firm since its inception. In his practice, Attorney Tucker represents municipalities, developers, and abutters in planning and zoning matters, as well as people from all income levels in estate planning and probate. He also has a general practice and represents many small businesses and individuals and provides their day-to-day legal needs, particularly real estate acquisitions and sales, contractual matters, and general business and personal legal advice.
Charlie has represented a number of municipalities and currently represents the Town of Bartlett, the Town of Kensington, the Town of Exeter Tax Collector, and assists other members of the firm with municipal issues. Charlie is counsel for a number of nonprofit organizations, including the Land Trust of Southeast New Hampshire, Exeter Cemetery Association and RiverWoods at Exeter. RiverWoods is a major, nonprofit retirement community. He represented RiverWoods through the many years of its planning and through its land use permitting stages as well as continuing to provide advice to the Board of Trustees on routine matters.
Charlie was born in Lynn, Massachusetts. He received his B.A. from Yale College in 1963, and his J.D. from Yale Law School in 1966. He was admitted to the bar of the State of Connecticut in 1967, and the bar of the State of New Hampshire in 1971. He was admitted to the U.S. Federal District Court Bar as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit in Boston, Massachusetts. He is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association.
Charlie has been trained as an Alternate Dispute Resolution mediator by the New Hampshire Superior Court system and has been active as a Court-appointed mediator for several years and serves periodically as a mediator in the Superior Court. Charlie is active in the Exeter community. He serves as Moderator for the Town of Exeter and as Moderator for the Exeter Region Cooperative School District. He has served on a number of boards of charitable organizations in the Seacoast area and is active in the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce and the Appalachian Mountain Club.
Charlie has also practiced as a city planner and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, gaining full membership in that organization in 1972. He was on the adjunct faculty at the University of New Hampshire for fourteen years, teaching Environmental Law and Zoning Law. He also taught Environmental Law and International Law at the UNH/Cornell Shoals Marine Laboratory for many years. Attorney Tucker is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association Elder Law, Real Estate Law, and Municipal Law Sections.
