Sharon joined our firm in May, 2000. Sharon provides substantive and practical guidance to a host of municipal clients on a variety of topics. Additionally, she uses skills and insight gained in the public sector to counsel private clients in their dealings with local and state authorities.
Prior to coming to Donahue, Tucker & Ciandella, Sharon was in public service with the City of Portsmouth as Assistant City Attorney, developing a specialized understanding of municipal law and local government operations. Sharon now provides general legal advice to municipalities and to the land use boards for a number of municipal clients on issues of current interest such as conservation developments, impact fees, elderly housing and development on Class VI or private roads. She also represents a number of private clients before land use boards seeking approvals from the Zoning Board of Adjustment or Planning Board. Sharon also practices extensively in the field of condominium evelopment and represents private clients in drafting condominium documents and obtaining Attorney General approval for condominiums.
Sharon was born and raised in Bridgewater, Connecticut. She attended Smith College for two years and completed her undergraduate education at Wesleyan University where she received a B.A. in 1980. After working and traveling, she returned to New England and obtained her J.D. from Vermont Law School in 1984. She is admitted to practice in all New Hampshire Courts, and the U.S. District Court, District of New Hampshire. She is a member of the New Hampshire Bar and is the Chairman of the Municipal Section of the New Hampshire Bar.
Sharon resides in South Hampton with her husband. Sharon serves on the Zoning Board of Adjustment and on the South Hampton Master Plan Subcommittee. Sharon is also on the Board of Directors of Leadership Seacoast, a non-profit organization which encourages local business people and leaders to contribute to their communities by volunteering their time and expertise to local non-profits and municipal governments.
