Scott S. Anders

Scott came to us in 2024 while awaiting receiving his New Hampshire license.  Scott would say he was “the oldest law clerk in the United States.”  Scott received his New Hampshire license in early 2025, relinquishing the oldest law clerk title.

Prior to joining DTC, Scott practiced law for 34 years in Washington State and Oregon.  Scott served as a Deputy Criminal Prosecutor in Clark County, Washington for 4 years before switching and becoming a Deputy Civil Prosecutor.  As a Deputy Civil Prosecutor, Scott represented Clark County in tax matters, land use and real estate matters, bankruptcy, and general civil litigation.

After working for 11 years for the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office, Scott was appointed to the Clark County District Court.  While handling a regular load of civil and criminal cases, Scott also served as the Mental Health Court judge running the fourth mental health court in the United States.  Through almost 5 years of running the Mental Health Court, the recidivism rate of those found mentally ill and committing crime was reduced by over 60%.

Scott left the bench after 5 years and returned to private life where he represented large financial companies, mortgage companies, bankruptcy trustees, and individuals facing issues they never expected.

Scott served in Rotary for 22 years and served as President of a very large Rotary group.  He also served on other charitable boards and worked with high schoolers on finding suitable scholarships.

In 2022, Scott, his wife and their dog moved to Exeter, NH, while he served as general counsel of a company.  The company became financially insolvent, which led Scott to meet with DTC.

Scott is a serial dog rescuer.  When not working, Scott and his wife love to travel and spend time with their daughter.  He hopes that he is done with yard work.
