Attorney Mansfield Appointed Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Exeter High School Alumni Association

Attorney Douglas Mansfield has been appointed the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Exeter High School Alumni Association.  The Alumni Association is a non-profit corporation organized to enrich the education and experience of future generations of Exeter High School graduates by uniting, informing and involving alumni, friends, students and faculty of Exeter High School and its predecessors, Tuck High School and Robinson Female Seminary, in charitable service and support to the school and preserving the schools’ history, traditions and spirit.

Dress for Sox-Cess

DTC Attorneys and Staff are participating in the Jimmy Fund Dress for Sox-Cess on Friday, April 8, 2011 (Red Sox Opening Day).  In exchange for a $5, or more, donation to benefit The Jimmy Fund Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, participating DTC employees will be dressing in their finest Sox apparel to show their support.

In addition, the Partners have pledged to donate raffle prizes, including 2 Red Sox tickets to a spring game, which will be raffled off to participating employees.

Bruins Alumni Hockey Game

DTC is proud to be a co-sponsor of Exeter’s own “Battling” Tom O’Gorman, former player for the College of DuPage and the Minor Blackhawks, in his debut as a Seacoast Alumni, when Tom and his teammates take on Rick Middleton, Ken Linseman and other Boston Bruins Alumni on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at The Rinks at Exeter.

Tickets are $10.00 per person and can be obtained by contacting Beth MacDonald at  or by calling 778-0686.  Proceeds from the event will go to support the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce Children’s Fund and other Chamber programs.

Coat Drive

Wonderland Thrift Shop in Exeter is in urgent need of coats.  They are holding a Coat Drive (coats, hats, ski wear, winter clothing items) from Monday Dec. 6 until Friday Dec. 10 from 6:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the bandstand in Exeter.  DTC is participating in a mass drop off on December 7th with participation from both our Exeter and Portsmouth offices.

Adopt a Family

This year we have chosen to adopt a family in need for the Christmas holiday.  SAU 16 CMS Outreach Program has 80 families from all SAU 16 schools (Exeter, Stratham, Brentwood, Kingston, E. Kingston and Newfields) in need of help during this tough holiday time.  We have selected a family with a single mom and her 7 children ranging from 3 months through age 27.

DTC attorneys present six lectures for New Hampshire Municipal Association’s Municipal Law Lecture Series

Bringing together their areas of expertise with Planning Boards and Zoning Boards of Adjustment and telecommunications law, DTC Partner Sharon Cuddy Somers and Attorney Kate Miller presented six lectures around the state of New Hampshire during the fall of 2010 as part of the New Hampshire Municipal Association’s Municipal Law Lecture Series, on “Cell Towers: Managing the Approval Process to Protect Municipal Interests and Comply with Federal Law.”  The materials provided are available on their individual pages.

Lizabeth MacDonald elected to the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce

DTC Partner Lizabeth MacDonald was elected by the members of the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce to serve a three-year term on its Board of Directors, beginning in September 2010.  Beth has extensive experience with the formation of business entities and advising business owners and entrepreneurs on the legal issues involving the operation, sale and transfer of businesses.

Joy Riddell elected Treasurer of the New Hampshire Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys

DTC estate planning and elder law attorney, Joy Riddell, was recently elected Treasurer of the New Hampshire Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, an association of lawyers with expertise in elder law, including planning for the declining years, Medicaid eligibility, management of the financial affairs of the elderly and planning for disposition of assets through trusts and wills.
