Attorney Chris Boldt will join Richard and Marion Posner and Lisa Thompson in once again perform a reading of Charles Dicken’s classic A Christmas Carol. The performance will be at 3:30 p.m. at the Chocorua Village Library in Tamworth, NH. The performance is free, though contributions to the Library are gratefully accepted.

On Friday September 18th, Senior Real Estate Paralegal Tina Foley was awarded the Paralegal Professionalism Award from the New Hampshire Bar Association. This annual award is presented to the nominee who best exhibits a high degree of professionalism: possesses an outstanding level of job-related knowledge; has motivation that exceeds expectations; is considered a role model for other paralegals; and promotes paralegal work as a profession. DTC partner Beth MacDonald, Vice Chair of the Exeter Economic Development Commission, together with Jason Proulx, Commission Chair, Dan Chartrand, Select Board’s representative, Chris Surrette, Commission Member and Russ Dean, Town Manager, rode the newly configured COAST bus Route 7 to learn about the economic development opportunities the route offers to Exeter and other areas it serves.

Common questions business owners should be asking include: “What will happen to my business?” “Should I sell it or transfer it to family members?” and “When should I start passing the reins?” We will provide an overview of various factors and options that should be considered for a business owner’s succession and estate planning. Before a packed crowd at the annual Community Awards Dinner on June 18th, DTC was awarded the Business of the Year Award in the Business Services category by the Exeter Chamber of Commerce. This is the second time DTC has been awarded as Business of the Year by the Chamber! At the event, several other community awards were given to local community members in several areas. Nicole L. Tibbetts joined DTC as an Associate in June 2015. Her experience and practice involves various aspects of commercial and residential real estate transactions. Prior to joining the firm. She practiced in the area of SBA loans, developing an understanding of commercial transactions. Nicole also has experience working with banks and municipalities to maintain the affordability of units in affordable housing programs. Nicole grew up in Massachusetts where she received her B.A. degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and her J.D. degree from Suffolk University Law School and is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Maine as well as NH. In May, Attorney Beth MacDonald was elected Vice Chair of the Exeter Economic Development Commission. Beth has served as a Member of the Commission for the past three years, and has enjoyed working with other members to further the efforts of economic development in the Town of Exeter.
In June, Attorney Eric Maher was voted Chair for the New Hampshire Bar Association Municipal and Governmental Law Section for the 2015/2016 term. With over 175 members, the section meets ten times a year to discuss including an annual legislative update, discussion of town meeting issues and municipal utilities, among others.
DTC has pledged to donate $10,000.00 in support of the Exeter Area YMCA, which is currently under construction. The Exeter Area YMCA is scheduled to open in September 2015, and will provide services to all ages throughout the region. Effective January 1, 2015, Chris Hilson became a Member of the Firm. Chris will continue to provide counsel to the Firm’s business, municipal and individual clients in a variety of litigation and dispute resolution matters, including commercial and consumer protection litigation; real estate, land use and telecommunication disputes; and personal injury claims.
