giving tree 2 Continuing DTC’s holiday tradition, we “adopted” a family that is less fortunate than ourselves through the United Way.  The family submitted a wish list and DTC lawyers and staff members delivered!!  Gift tags were distributed throughout our Exeter, Portsmouth and Meredith offices.  We are happy to be a part of making Christmas more enjoyable for this family.

Pie Auction Brings in the Dough

2013 Pie Auction 2Attorney Chris Boldt recently served as Auctioneer for the 6th Annual Harvest Dinner and Pie Auction at St. Andrew’s-in-the-Valley Episcopal Church in Tamworth. The event raised over $1,800 for the Church’s local outreach missions, including the Community Food Center, CASA and other worthy projects. The attached photo shows Chris in action at this popular Holiday tradition.

Chris & Carolyn Boldt Perform with Sandwich Singers

Attorney Chris Boldt and his wife Carolyn will perform again with the Sandwich Singers at two Christmas concerts this year: Sunday December 15 at the Methodist Meeting House in Center Sandwich and Wednesday December 18 at the Tamworth Congregational Church. Both concerts will be at 7:30 p.m. and are free, though contributions are gratefully accepted.

The Singers are directed this year by Peggy Johnson, who has been doing so for the past thirteen years. The group has existed primarily for Christmas music for well over thirty years, since being formed by local legend, Bob Bates. This year’s program includes music from American and European traditions, and a commissioned piece created by award winning Plymouth State University Music Department Director Jonathan Santore and his Advanced Music Composition students, Eben Brown, Hannah Cambers, Brad Dumont and Kyle Quirion. This Commission was funded by the Yeoman’s Fund for the Arts.

DTC Supports Exeter Area Lions Club Food Drive

DTC is proud to support the Exeter Area Lions Club Annual Holiday Food Drive. The Lions Club delivers food baskets to those local area residents in need. This year, the Lions Club will deliver 60 baskets on Saturday, December 21. Please drop off non-perishable food items or grocery store gift cards at DTC’s Exeter or Portsmouth offices before December 18. Since 1917, Lions clubs have offered people the opportunity to give something back to their communities. From involving members in projects as local as cleaning up an area park or as far-reaching as bringing sight to the world’s blind, Lions clubs have always embraced those committed to building a brighter future for their community. DTC Hosts “Wonderland Thrift Shop” Winter Coat Drive

coatsDonahue, Tucker & Ciandella, PLLC was proud to host a winter coat (and clothing) drive on behalf of Wonderland Thrift Shop.  DTC was able to collect hundreds of items including coats, hats, scarves and mittens for those less fortunate.  Wonderland Thrift Shop is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization which is proud to donate its profits locally to numerous charitable organizations, churches and community service organizations, as well as local families and individuals in need. DTC is glad to be a part of this effort and we hope you will join us next year.  If you are interested in contributing to the coat drive this year–take a few moments, clean out those closets, and help Wonderland reach its current goal of 4,000 coats–additional items can be dropped off at Wonderland Thrift Shop! DTC Participates in United Way Day of Caring

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERASeptember 11th has been designated a national day of service. The United Way has since designated every September 11th to hold their “Day of Caring”. DTC has participated in the Fall Day of Caring since its inception.

Day of Caring is an event where volunteers from around the region join local nonprofit agencies to work on one-time service projects. Participating nonprofit agencies host volunteers from the community and local businesses who choose to give their time and services in an effort to impact our communities’ needs.

Last year DTC worked with the Friends of Albacore park and cleaned up the grounds, ship and museum of the Albacore Park Museum in Portsmouth NH.  This year DTC worked with Growing Places at their Lee, NH facility.  DTC team members along with staff from the Sheraton Hotel, helped clean up the grounds, revamp playground equipment, interior and exterior painting and staining new/used furniture.

A Safe Place Celebrates 35 Years of Saving Lives and Creating Futures

On September 28, A Safe Place will celebrate 35 years of helping victims of domestic abuse in the Seacoast Region at their annual Awards Evening. The evening will feature keynote speaker Lundy Bancroft and their annual pizza and cupcake challenge. DTC is a proud supporter of A Safe Place. A Safe Place is a grassroots social change organization incorporated to prevent and eliminate domestic violence. Today they continue their original commitment to provide free and confidential services to survivors of domestic abuse, their families and the community. DTC Sponsors EHS “Kick’n into Gear” 5K Road Race

DTC is proud to sponsor the Exeter High School Boys Soccer Boosters sixth annual “Kick’n into Gear” 5K Road Race. The race, open to runners and walkers of all ages and levels of ability, will start at the EHS Track, 1 Blue Hawk Dr., Exeter, NH at 8:30 on Saturday, September 21. DTC Supports Team Trevor

DTC is proud to support Team Trevor. Team Trevor is a local 501(C)(3) organized in 2007 to help advocate, educate and find a cure for cystic fibrosis. Team Trevor recognizes the need to change the future for those people affected by cystic fibrosis. Trevor is an inspirational child whose big, brown eyes speak volumes about his love of life, his curiosity, and his kind nature. DTC Sponsors Powder Keg and Chili Festival

DTC is sponsoring the 2nd Annual Exeter Powder Keg Beer & Chili Festival on Saturday, October 5, 2013 from noon to 4:00 p.m. in the Swasey Parkway in Exeter. DTC parnter, Beth MacDonald, together with Christine Foley and Nancy Cannon are just some of the DTC employees and friends who will be volunteering to help the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce and Exeter Parks and Recreation Department in their efforts to put on the Festival.  There will be great beer from regional breweries, tasty chili from local restaurants together with live music.  For more information on the festival please visit www.powderkegbeerfest.com.
