DTC team members will be participating in the Exeter Area Lions Club Walkathon on Thursday, August 22, 2013 to benefit the Steve Shope Trail to Recovery Fund. Steve Shope is a Newfields, NH resident, local small-business owner, volunteer firefighter, town official and mountain biking enthusiast. Steve was hurt on April 26th while mountain biking, incurring a severe injury to his cervical vertebrae and spinal cord. Family, friends, and the local community have rallied in support of the Shope family, including the formation of the Trail to Recovery fund. All proceeds from the Walkathon will be going to the Steve Shope Trail to Recovery Fund to help Steve and his family with the expenses related to making his home handicap accessible and ongoing care.
