Attorneys Christopher Boldt and Eric Maher Give Lecture on Utility Appeals

Last week the New Hampshire Municipal Association hosted its 76th Annual Conference in Manchester. DTC Lawyers was there as an Exhibitor and Attorneys Christopher Boldt and Eric Maher gave a lecture on the NH Utility Appeals. Since 2014, several utility companies have appealed their assessments in multiple communities throughout New Hampshire. The lecture was on the history behind these utility appeals and gave an update on recent court decisions and pending litigation. Attorneys Kate Miller and Justin Pasay to present lecture on “Wireless Facilities: Managing the Approval Process” at the 2017 Municipal Law Lecture Series

On Saturday September 23rd and Saturday October 14th, Attorneys Kate Miller and Justin Pasay will be presenters at the 2017 Municipal Law Lecture Series. These lectures are intended for municipal officials with an interest in or responsibility for any aspect of municipal land use regulation, including members of planning and zoning boards, planners, land use administrators, select boards, town and city councilors, building inspectors, code enforcement officers, and public works personnel.

Their lecture will go over the following:

Does state or federal law trump local zoning for cell towers? How can Planning Boards and ZBAs protect municipal interests and comply with state and federal law when permitting wireless facilities? With all the changes in state and federal law over the past 8 years, it is hard to keep up! And mistakes can be expensive. This presentation will present an overview of the evolving law on permitting wireless facilities, plus provide specific recommendations for procedures your land use boards, municipal staff and regional planners can implement to ensure this tricky process is done right.

Denise A. Poulos Elected to Serve as President of the Seacoast Board of Veterans Count

Denise A. Poulos has been elected to serve as President of the Seacoast Board of Veterans Count, which as the philanthropic arm of Easterseals Military & Veterans Services, over the past 10 years has provided services to more than 9,900 individuals for challenges including suicide prevention, employment, homelessness, substance misuse treatment, transportation, legal concerns, mental health issues resulting from post-traumatic stress and/or traumatic brain injury. In addition, emergency financial assistance for food, utilities, housing, rent, emergency shelter, fuel assistance, vehicle repair, child care, gasoline, and medical bills is also provided. DTC Bids Farewell to Attorney Charles Tucker

On Thursday, June 1st our client, colleagues and friends joined us at our new Exeter location to enjoy refreshments and check out our new space. The evening was bittersweet as we said farewell to one of our founding Partners, Charlie Tucker, as he retires after 50 years of service to his clients. Mike Donahue, Rob Ciandella and Bob Derosier shared many fond memories of Charlie. We wish Charlie and Jean well as they embark on their new adventure. DTC Prepares for Move

We are excited to announce we are moving our Exeter office on May 20th to our new location at 16 Windsor Lane, Exeter, NH 03833 (across from Access Sports). As we prepare for the move, on Friday May 19th in the late afternoon, there may be interruption in either telephone or e-mail services. We plan to be up and running at our new location on Monday, May 22, 2017.

DTC Atty. Chris Boldt to Speak at OEP Spring Planning and Zoning Conference

Attorney Chris Boldt will once again be presenting at the 2017 Annual Spring Planning and Zoning Conference of the NH Office of Energy and Planning, scheduled for Saturday, April 29th at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord, NH. 2016 Municipal Law Lecture Series- DTC Attorneys Christopher Hilson, Justin Pasay and Eric Maher to Present

DTC Attorneys Christopher Hilson,  Justin Pasay and Eric Maher will be presenting a lecture on Code Enforcement at this years Municipal Law Lecture Series.

These lectures are intended for municipal officials with an interest in, or responsibility for, any aspect of municipal land use regulation, including members of planning boards, zoning boards, conservation commissions, and select boards, as well as councilors, planners, building inspectors and code enforcement officers.

Code enforcement can be complicated, with various nuanced procedures that are dependent on the code being enforced. This presentation will inform attendees of the various land use, building, and safety codes enforceable by municipalities in the State of New Hampshire, as well as the procedures established to enforce those codes. Attendees will be further provided with practical advice with regard to enforcement actions from three practitioners in code enforcement.
